Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, we're talking with Aaron Lester, all the way from the Philippines.
Aaron helps personal trainers who work with people virtually, and one of the things we had a great conversation about is the idea of building your prototype.
In order to scale something, you have to have a proof element and what I call the scale ready algorithm.
So much of the frustration I see people experience with scaling is that they haven't taken the time to get things scale ready, and often that's about just investing time and energy in figuring out your protocol. Figuring out the best things that works for one of your ideal audience.
Whoever you choose as a target market, it's about getting the core right, and then being able to scale from there.
Once you get something scale ready, you may find it could be even centrally managed, and you could offer an entirely different service where you just deliver the result to people who just want to be personal trainers, or chiropractors or coaches or dentists, and don't want to be marketers or technicians.
So much opportunity stems from your ability to crack this idea of getting the scale ready algorithm, and this episode is great to start thinking in that way.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, I'm going to share the last in a 3 part podcast series that Joe Polish and I did way back in Episode 12 of the I Love Marketing podcast, talking about the concept of the self milking cow.
It's particularly relevant now because Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy have just released their new book 'Who Not How' and this concept was the genesis of that idea. So it's a great time to listen to the behind-the-scenes thinking that evolved to their big concept.
If you haven’t listened to the first part of the series, I'd recommend going back to the last episode, but more importantly, go get a copy of Who Not How. It truly is a revolutionary book that will make a big difference in your life.
You've heard me talk a lot about this idea of being the cow and not succumbing to the temptation to be the self milking cow, trying to do it all yourself. Well, this is the framework and the philosophy that gets you there.
It's a great time of year to contemplate going into 2021 with a real Who Not How plan to multiply your efforts in the coming years. daily routines and a lot of really cool stuff. There is great information here that I think you will find valuable.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, I'm going to share part 1 of a 3 part podcast series that Joe Polish and I did way back in Episode 12 of the I Love Marketing podcast, talking about the concept of the self milking cow.
It's particularly relevant now because Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy have just released their new book 'Who Not How' and this concept was the genesis of that idea. So it's a great time to listen to the behind-the-scenes thinking that evolved to their big concept.
Over the next two weeks, I'll share the other parts of this series, and what I'd recommend is that you listen to all of these, but more importantly, go get a copy of Who Not How. It truly is a revolutionary book that will make a big difference in your life.
You've heard me talk a lot about this idea of being the cow and not succumbing to the temptation to be the self milking cow, trying to do it all yourself. Well, this is the framework and the philosophy that gets you there.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, we're talking with Gary Klaben, and Gary is a financial advisor from Chicago.
Gary has a really great program of videos and education that employers can offer as a benefit to their employees, giving them access to real financial advice when they need it.
He's put a lot into creating an app that provides all of these videos to employees to help them get educational advice on practical things like what to do when they're going to buy a car, or when they're going to buy a house, or how to think about money. Things they wouldn't necessarily have access to otherwise.
What he's really doing is helping provide a sense of financial wellbeing for employees of large employers.
So, one of the things we talked about was how to get this word out, and towards the end of the call, we really came up with the idea of ideas, which is identifying potential clients for this service, and how do we get the message in front of them.
This is a great episode and will really help you think about who benefits from your service.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, we're talking with Rene Floyd from Perris, California, and Rene has a wonderful business helping people make their beautiful, curly, wavy hair look even better.
Rene's a retired hairstylist who's developed her own products and methods to help people, and I love her single target market focus. She's got great products, and she has a great business, so we talked about overlaying the idea of a before, during, and after unit on to what she's doing, and found that a lot of her business is actually in the after unit.
That's really where a business like this is.
When you have a business where you solve an ongoing problem or provide an ongoing solution for someone, and you create an experience they love, they have an opportunity to come back again and again and again.
That's your great opportunity to build an amazing business.
We ended by talking about the before unit, acquiring brand new business and thinking about how much you would cheerfully pay to develop a new customer, and we had a great little breakdown of how to think about business in that way.
This is a great episode, especially if your business had the opportunity to build relationships with clients in this way.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, we're talking with Stu Swineford from Boulder, Colorado, where they have an agency that helps nonprofit and purpose-driven businesses with their marketing.
We had a great conversation about selecting and narrowing to a single target market. I love that they're crystal clear on who it is they want to work with, and we talked about how they can get more involved in that community in a way that would start providing engaging content for them.
There are so many opportunities, including a nice content marketing strategy involving podcasting, and if you're looking for ideas to connect with your potential customers, this is a great episode.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers Podcast, we're talking with another Canadian, Ginny Campbell.
Ginny's a life coach who left a career in television production to pivot to do something that really suits her, and meets what she wanted for her late-career, and she's now able and equipped to help other women going through the same thing.
She's built up a nice list of 2300 people who are paying attention to her emails, so in our call today, we talked about how to engage with those people and really get the conversation going.
This is universally applicable, So if you're in that kind of a situation, you're going to get a lot out of this episode.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers Podcast, we have a very special episode because I got to talk with my cousin, my second cousin, Lennette Palermo, from Canada.
Lennette's a Six Sigma, business process specialist. She's starting a new consulting business to help entrepreneurs and business owners map and process their businesses.
I love this kind of thinking because everything fits with what we do with the 8 Profit Activators. So much of creating a great business is creating a great experience, and so much of creating a great experience is in having a process map.
We had a great conversation about her experience, how she helps business owners, and what you can do to think about mapping the processes in your business, and we're actually working together right now on a business mapping process for my business, so I can't wait to share how that turns out.
This is a great episode to really help you capture what's great about your business.

Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers Podcast, we're talking with Geoffrey Fullerton, all the way from Jamaica.
Part of his business is as an affiliate for a particular service, and we had a really interesting conversation about his approach to finding people, then building and keeping a dedicated group of users who would benefit from the shrive he's promoting.
It's really an 'After Unit' model of building relationships, as opposed to just being a 'Before Unit' of finding people who want to sign up.
It's a great jumping-off point because we went on to talk about how to differentiate yourself and the importance of selecting a single target market that responds to this differentiation.
If you're an affiliate of any product or service, this is a good model to think about how you can add value to the basic tools that people are using.
